For most SoA students, the first taste of life in SMU’s School of Accountancy happens at the ASoc Freshmen Camp! A yearly initiative brought forth by ASoc, the camp aims to introduce freshmen to SoA, as well as forge bonds between incoming students, current students, and members of the faculty.

SMU’s School of Accountancy (SoA) was launched in 2001,with the Bachelor of Accountancy (BAcc) undergraduate degree as its sole offering. Since then, the school has received strong endorsement from industry players as well as the accounting profession alike.

As the official student body representing SoA, we, the Accounting Society (ASoc), aim to forge a unique school identity and enhance student integration within the school.

Our mission:
• Foster relations between the school, students, alumni and corporate partners
• Develop a greater sense of collegiality and school identity
• Manage and maintain the interest of SoA’s stakeholders

As the official student body representing the school, ASoc has the ability to reach out to the entire student population, to manage the welfare of over 800 students under its care.
